Long Mobile provides professional installation to the end user of various aftermarket vehicle electronics, such as in-dash GPS navigation systems, collision avoidance systems, remote starters and alarms throughout the Northeast.  

We work directly with the end user on behalf of many companies who contract Long Mobile to install their products in the Northeast region.  We also work directly with consumers who have purchased a product and need installation, service, or warranty service. 

We have worked with dozens of GPS/Telematics companies over the last 10 years and have installed all types of devices ranging from 3wire (power, ground, ignition) to door sensors, temperature sensors, vehicle diagnostics, tablets, PTO sensors, etc.  We work on all types and sizes of trucks, passenger cars, construction equipment, chippers, grooming machines, trailers.

GPS Navigation

Built in GPS Navigation systems are now very common on newer vehicles, especially the well equipped models.  If you are tired of using that small, theft-prone GPS Navigation that hangs from your windshield it may be time to upgrade to an in-dash system. Benefits include a bigger monitor/screen, voice guidance through your car's speakers, and you will never have to hide it like the portable units or find a place to plug it in. You will get a factory-like appearance with our installation. There are many solutions for most vehicles.

Backup Cameras and Blindspot Cameras

Backup Cameras are now very popular on many newer vehicles. In fact, US federal regulations state that all 2016 and up model year passenger vehicles sold in the US must be equipped with a factory backup camera. Backup cameras make driving and parking a little easier and safer. Have you ever gotten out of your vehicle while backing up to see just how close you are vehicle or object behind you? That will never happen again. Master parking your vehicle and eliminate that blind spot that a child could be in.

Do you already have a backup camera and and want more visibility while turning or changing lanes? Blindspot cameras are mounted on the driver and passenger sides of vehicle and automatically allow you to view the area that your side mirrors don't see. Use your blinkers to view the blindspot.

Bluetooth Handsfree

It's a law in most states, including Connecticut, that handheld cell phone use is illegal. There are hefty fines if you're caught. Don't take that chance and drive safe using an installed bluetooth handsfree system. There are many different solutions depending on your your application. Most systems have an installed microphone. The sound comes through your existing car speakers, giving a much better experience and helping you stay productive during those long commutes.

Mobile Camera/DVR Systems

Front mounted camera/DVR systems are becoming more popular these days.  With all of the congestion on the roads accidents happen. Record the road ahead of you to be able to show police how the accident occurred, or if you are so inclined, you may be able to help someone else even if you're not directly involved. Some systems even include a crash avoidance alerts to help avoid potential accidents. Commercial grade systems include a rear facing interior camera that's great for buses and vans carrying adults and children. Inquire about what system is best for you.

We've been working with GPS/Telematics companies in North America since 2006, completing installations for their customers across the northeast. Our goal is to give the customer a hassle free buying experience. We also work with local car dealers to install aftermarket accessories.

My main focus is to satisfy my customer's needs with exceptional service and use my expertise to help them advance their business in any way that I can. I appreciate all of my customers as they have made my business what it is today.

The Very Beginning

Long Mobile LLC started in January 2006 under the name Long Mobile Installation with the primary focus on satisfying the needs of business fleets with quality installation of GPS Tracking & Telematics.  But let’s start from the very beginning with the owner/founder Alan Long.  Alan started his Mobile Electronics career in April 1991 as an installer at a local car stereo shop while in his junior year of high school.  Working on cars and equipping them with high end sound systems and all the latest high tech gadgets was his passion.  Alan attended a technical college for electrical engineering which gave him a good foundation.  

For the next 15 years Alan worked for many different shops, quickly learning all aspects of installation including: car stereos, custom speaker boxes, alarms, car phones, remote car starters, cruise control, air conditioning, power moon-roofs, navigation, custom lighting, VHS & DVD entertainment systems, etc.  Alan has extensive experience in “car dealer work” -installing accessories into brand new vehicles before customers take delivery.  During that 15 year period, he held the positions of installer, assistant manager & floating manager.

Long Mobile Opens

December 2005 was the last time Alan would work for anyone but himself, opening up Long Mobile Installation in January 2006.  With limited funds Alan decided to be completely mobile, working out of his truck and delivering door to door service installing automotive accessories.  In that same month an old boss of Alan’s referred a customer that had 18 GPS tracking units to install into his fleet.  Being new to GPS tracking Alan and Long Mobile Installation quickly embraced a rapidly growing industry that to this day accounts for more than half of all business.  Through hundreds of phone calls and emails Alan was able to establish business relationships with GPS/Telematics companies offering his installation service of GPS tracking equipment for their customers in the Northeast.  

Through local advertising Long Mobile connected with car dealers and businesses in the area, installing Backup Cameras and Sensors, Remote Car Starters, Navigation Systems, DVD Video Systems, Bluetooth Handsfree and more.  

Through the last 10 years Long Mobile LLC has continued to thrive, growing each year.  Word of mouth advertising and referrals have been Alan’s and Long Mobile’s greatest asset.  Many thanks to all the great people that Long Mobile has been able to serve.
